Okay, my bestfriend Melanie showed me Margot and the Nuclear so and so's at the end of last year. At first, I'll be honest, I fell in love instantly. The first song I had heard was "Bookworm" then she kept making me mixed CD's with others like "As Tall As Cliffs". They became my absolute favorite. I have started getting all of my friends, and my family into this band. And i have all their CDs. I really wish you guys would come to Nashville, Tennessee. Honestly, that would make everyone here in Clarksville really happy.
I enjoy your music so much, your truely the best band Ive ever heard,
Lexi Smith:)
I Tell Tales...
But I can't possibly make this one any better. This is one of the best bands I've ever heard. One of my friends told me about Margot & the Nuclear So and So's, so I found "Quiet as a Mouse" on youtube.com and I thought, "What a great song!" Then I started to search for more of Margot. To be perfectly honest, when I first listened to other songs, I thought, "Well, just peachy. All the other songs suck!" But, thanks to Pandora, I ended up hearing "A Child's Crusade on Acid". While listening to it, I somehow became addicted. After that, I immediately began searching the web, trying to listen to all your songs.
And they are absolutely amazing. This CD is totally worth every bit of money spent! I've pretty much been listening to it, along with The Dust of Retreat and Not Animal, for about 2 weeks straight now.
And in response to some of you who don't want to buy songs that overlap on Animal! and Not Animal, http://amazon.com is amazing. They offer the mp3 versions, so you don't have to buy the whole CD or buy a vinyl when you don't have a record player. You can just pick and choose which ones you want to buy.
Keep up the good work! And please come to Kansas!!!!

Why didn't I know of this band before??
I just recently discovered them! mind blowing. amazing. wow.
Please (!!!) come to New Zealand!
blaaah !
i really want them to come to switzerland.!!!
One Of The Best Period!
I have to start out by saying that this is one of the best bands I've ever heard. One night I was enjoying an herbel refreshment and my buddy through on Not Animal! I swear it was the most tranquil and soothing experience I've ever had with music. From start to finish this album blew me away! I can't wait for a new album!

amazing!
The band is absolutely amazing overall. The Dust of Retreat is amazing and Animal and Not Animal are really great too. There isn't one song i don't like. Vocals are amazing, always.
Keep making amazing songs & come put on a show in NYC or NJ : )

dare i say it...
but i downloaded both. o.O
if i wouldn't have, i definitely would have bought both of them, they are far worth more than the price.
i was kind of confused when some of the same songs were on both albums, and at first, that kind of weirded me out, cause i was like why would someone want to buy 2 cds with a bunch of the same songs?! but now, hearing that they're 2 different choices of sets, it's quite alright, and i have a bunch more respect. ha! and i was super bummed out when i couldn't go see them in norman the other week. but it's whatever, i guess.
anyway, as i wrap this up, both of the albums are great! and i encourage everyone to not follow my example and BUY them as opposed to downloading.
they are such an amazing band. sheesh, just... yeah.
Not Animal? Not that Bad.
I was expecting Not Animal to be the wanna-be version of Animal! because I heard talk that Animal! was the band's "version" of the album and not Epic's.
Well due to a lack of funds I could only purchase Not Animal and I love it. It absolutely blew me away.
If this is how good Not Animal is then I can only imagine what Animal! is gonna do to me.
I love all the subtleties on the tracks on Not Animal..there are little guitar riffs here and there that are there and fat but at the same time their not...very haunting. I love the over all feel of the record. Makes me happy.
I am super stoked for the gig this Friday at Murat.
Holy Wow!
I was not expecting something this magnificent! I of course have heard your first album and loved it, but to go from that to this in only two years is astounding and impressive. I can't even really articulate what major changes have been made in sound between the two without vaguely saying "expanse occurred." I guess I just never really could have predicted that you would record "A Children's Crusade On Acid" that really would live up to its title. I will now manically await your next album, just as soon as I buy your CD from the record store (got the vinyl first).
Which also reminds me, does anyone know if the CD lives up to the vinyl version? I know that both contain some of the same tracks, but I just feel that 17 tracks created as beautifully as the first 12 that I heard just isn't possible. Let me know what you think, but I'll probably be to the store in a couple minutes.
Oh, and in response to posts below me, Animal! does come with a download code (which is in the form of a really cool poster) for the album. I know that paying for vinyl when you don't have a player just to get a download code sucks, but that's at least one way. You could always find a friend with a Turntable? Ah, just kidding, but I would recommend getting your hands on this album at some point in some way or another.
VERY MUCH WOULD LIKE ANIMAL
yeah...I can't review this album because I can't purchase it! Even if I do..I don't have a record player...nor the money for an album that expensive...nor the use for the songs I've alreayd purchased. I don't want to be an ass. But I'm a huge fan and I know that many people want the songs on animal that arent on not animal!. Wouldn't the record company rather sell individual songs or animal on a cd rather than have people download them illegally?
Love your music beyond belief...
want to hear animal!
Your Fan
Want Animal
Is there any way to get Animal on CD or in MP3's?
It was well worth the wait.
From start to finish, it's a wonderful album. I'm amazed at the growth shown on this album - the songwriting, the musicianship, the orchestration - everything has improved by leaps and bounds. Congrats, guys. I'm proud of you.
